The library was started along with the institution in the year 2000 with minimum volumes of books. Now the collection has risen to over 13,802 and over 62 periodicals. The library has been functioning at St.Joseph’s block since 2002.
The library has a comprehensive library automation package NIRMALS (Network Information Resources Management of Academic Library System) which has the following modules:
It governs housekeeping operations, transactions and managerial supportive services. The library monitors library users/visitors through Gate Entry Monitoring System (GEMS) with facilities for taking individual and class wise reports of the usage of the library. To make the library collections accessible in the whole campus, the library has WEB OPAC on internet which will be in course of time offered through network along with College Website.
As for Institutional Digital Repository, the College had provided DREAMS (Digital Repository Advanced Management System) for initially putting question papers, faculty publications and thesis. This will be expanded to include free learning resource material for study and research. DREAMS package is available on a separate Linux server. Another feature of this package is SMILES (Systematic Mapping of Internet Learning E-reSources) which gives links to freely available internet e-resources in the form of books, journals and data bases. This will be supplementary and complementary to the printed collections available in the library.
The library has Bar Code System and all the books are issued through scanning with bar code IDs of the students. The College is on the right track to make the library the real heart of the institution.
Access the e-Journals is available through N-List from INFLIBNET.
Book bank books will be issued to the needy and poor students on request.
The entire library was computerised in 2013.
The Library is open to all members of the college on every working day from 8.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. Students should visit the library frequently and do intelligent reading and reference work without neglecting general reading.
